Iran, EU meet to try to save nuclear deal

Anti-American sentiment peaks in Iran after Trump pulls out of deal

US President Donald Trump withdrew America from the historic Iran agreement last week, but other nations, including the UK, France, and Germany, have said that they will continue to uphold it. "Our talks (with the E3) will continue in the next two weeks", he said, referring to Britain, France and Germany.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has said that his country intends to stay in the Iran nuclear deal.

The 2015 agreement sought to curb Iran's nuclear programme in return for the lifting of economic sanctions.

We are on the right path. Decisions taken must protect and secure the rights of Iran.

Even former President Obama, who typically doesn't weigh in on current events, issued a statement saying he believes the USA decision to pull out of the Iran agreement is "a serious mistake".

Mogherini, who as the EU's top diplomat chaired the final stretch of 12 years of negotiations to clinch the Iran accord in July 2015 in Vienna, said: "We will all save it together".

After meeting his Chinese counterpart on Sunday, Zarif said he was hopeful of forging a "clear future design" for the accord.

One of the most requested features for the Xbox One's digital storefront was being able to gift games to your friends. What we can not see in the photo is the existence of the R-L buttons which may be on the top of the gamepad.

Lavrov said that it is necessary to prevent any new threats to the nuclear non-proliferation regime.

French diplomats said they also wanted to assess Iran's intentions in sticking to the deal, but also to see how open it was to serious talks on other Western concerns.

European diplomats acknowledged that the EU support, however honest, risked looking hollow after Trump last week reimposed an array of wide sanctions on the Islamic Republic that will hit European companies investing in Iran.

China's Foreign Ministry said talks included an "exchange of views with relevant parties on the developments of the Iranian nuclear issue". European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini is also be present at the meeting.

"(European) cooperation with Russian Federation, which until recently seemed impossible because of the Skripal (spy poisoning) case, with the expulsion of diplomats and the reduction of contact, is now receiving a fresh boost", consultant Andrei Baklitski of the PIR Center NGO said."The Europeans, after the withdrawal of the U.S. from the deal, have found themselves forced to save the Joint Cooperative Plan of Action themselves", he added.

Among them is the possible use of an EU "blocking regulation" which would, in essence, ban European companies from respecting American sanctions where those sanctions might damage EU interests, notably trade and the movement of capital.
