Hollywood Remembers Canadian Actress Margot Kidder

The first one Kidder and Reeve in the first Superman film which came out in 1978

An obituary in Franzen Davis said the actress died on Sunday at her home in Livingston, Mont.

Born in Yellowknife, Margot Kidder was part of a mining family that moved around remote regions of the country when she was young, her sister said, but after seeing shows on Broadway in New York City, she became "determined that she was going to be a star".

Christopher Reeve was an unknown before being cast as Superman. Joan Alexander and Noel Neill were among the early Lanes, whose coltish spirit often landed them in trouble with enemy agents and other foes bent on destroying the American way of life. "These are hard words to write, so simply - you will be so very missed, my dear Margot". She was later placed in psychiatric care.

Her primary focus in later life was on social causes, and not acting.

Imagine Lois Lane, and there's a good chance you see Margot Kidder's face.

Arsene Wenger fascinated by India, expresses wish to visit
Wenger was in unusually reflective mood as he prepared for the final match of his Arsenal tenure at Huddersfield Town tomorrow. Why?" "We live in a society where people want quick change and that has changed in recent years".

Kidder recovered and continued acting all the way up until a year ago, when she appeared in her final film, an indie mafia movie called The Neighborhood.

Margot Kidder's later movies were mostly of the horror genre, small independent films, or something with an indirect link to "Superman", but she proved her versatility as an actress by winning a Daytime Emmy Award in 2015.as a children's performer.

Kidder became an American citizen in 2005, and remained active in political protests as recently as past year, protesting the North Dakota pipeline.

"Her spunky, spirited portrayal of Lois Lane in Superman the movie will live on forever in the hearts of millions of people". Kidder was an activist and challenged the Iraq War. She was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She spoke candidly about her experience afterward and advocated for destigmatizing mental health issues. She also appears alongside Christopher Reeve in one of the most famous scenes in cinema history. Her first film was the Norman Jewison comedy "Gaily, Gaily" in 1969. Whenever Lois fights her own superpower-free battle for truth and justice in Metropolis, every time she scoops Clark or brings down a crime lord with a headline, there we will hear echoes of Margot Kidder. It wasn't until she was forced into therapy that she was able to get a handle on her health. And as long as people watch superhero movies, she'll continue to fly across the silver screen.
