Germany: US' Iran sanctions could stymie Europe

Russia calls on Iran Israel to hold dialogue

France's foreign minister on Thursday condemned the United States for re-imposing sanctions against foreign companies trading with Iran, labelling the move "unacceptable" in comments that expose the deepening rift between Washington and its European allies on the issue.

At a joint press conference with his German counterpart Heiko Maas, Lavrov said it's important that all other signatories to the agreement promptly assess the situation, hold necessary consultations, and elaborate steps that could help preserve it. Their concerns seem to be well-founded, as Germany's foreign minister has said it will be hard to protect them.

On Friday, Tehran condemned the Israeli strikes on the territory of Syria, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi was quoted.

Speaking about the USA decision to withdraw from Iran nuclear deal, Lavrov said Russian Federation "appreciated Iran's balanced reaction" to the US move.

On May 8, US President Donald Trump announced Washington's decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal as it, in his words, leaves Iran a possibility to create a nuclear bomb bypassing all the restrictions.

Benitez calls for united front at Newcastle
Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham have all been linked, but Benitez is hoping to fend off interest. "It was pretty much a flawless Sunday".

Moscow and Tehran will continue to cooperate on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program after the United States pulled out of the deal, Russia's foreign ministry said Thursday.

The official went on to assert that there was "no Iranian military presence, no military bases in Syria".

The deal is crucial for regional stability and maintaining the non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons regime, Lavrov said.

Commenting on the US intention to reestablish sanctions against Iran, Lavrov said the lifting of the UN Security Council sanctions against Iran could not be cancelled.

Apart from regular issues like combating narco-terrorism and organised crime, the two sides discussed the implications of the impending USA sanctions on Russian Federation and Iran, which could impact India's pending arms purchases as well as its energy security.
