Netanyahu Rebukes Iran, Claims Revolutionary Guards Creating Army Against Israel

The New Kingdom Magazine

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was "not impressed" with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's comments on an interview with CBS News Sunday, saying there is a "huge gap" between Zarif's supposedly moderate words and Iran's real actions.

"I do not believe that we are headed towards regional war but I do believe that unfortunately, Israel has continued its violations with global law, hoping to be able to do it with impunity because of the USA support and trying to find smokescreens to hide behind", Zarif told CBS News.

"And I do not believe that the smokescreens work anymore", he said in a transcript released prior to the broadcast.

"They have in fact escalated tension by violating Syrian airspace, by violating Syrian territory on a routine basis", he said.

Zarif appeared to make an attempt to mitigate an escalation of hostilities between the two countries after Israel downed an Iranian drone in February and struck at least one Iranian military base in Syria since. Tehran blamed Israel and vowed unspecified retaliation, drawing Israeli counter-threats to broaden attacks on Iranian military assets in Syria.

Per longstanding policy, Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility.

She said Germany will not follow the example of the United States, which is moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem next month, in the wake of Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

A senior Iranian military official warned at the weekend that the Islamic Republic is ready to attack Israel at any moment.

The Iranian Army commander went on to add that the IRGC unlike other armies in the world was formed based on the revolutionary beliefs, adding that it is responsible for tackling the cultural, political, economic, and social threats.

"Israel: Don't trust in your airbases; they're within reach", Salami wrote on Twitter. "I hope that we won't pay prices". "When you escape, you'll have no way but to the sea", he added. "I rely on this forum and the Israel Defense Forces for every possibility and every scenario".

"Today, we can see that the criminal U.S. (government) is making every attempt to ensure survival of the Zionist regime and strengthen its position in the region", the commander said according to Tansim News Agency.

"We must act on the matter of the Iranian deal and say - fix it from the ground up or cancel it from the ground up", the prime minister said.

"This is the foreign minister of a country that sends armed UAVs against Israel and missiles at Saudi Arabia", Netanyahu said.
