Confirmation of Trump's Pick to Lead VA May Be in Jeopardy

Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson was tapped to replace ousted Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin

Ronny Jackson was tapped to replace ousted Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.

Two sources told CNN that Republicans and Democrats on the committee have been informed of allegations of improper conduct at more than one stage in the career of Jackson, who now serves as White House physician.

Sources familiar with the tales say that Tester's staff is reviewing multiple allegations of a "hostile work environment".

As of late Monday, it was unclear if the veterans committee planned to postpone Jackson's hearing.

Jackson, who was hired in 2006 and became the chief doctor under President Obama in 2013, caused a stir in January when he gave Trump a glowing bill of health and touted his "incredible genes".

Mitch Marner's slender shoulders carry Leafs back to Boston
Shortly after he made that style of save in Game 3, Andersen tried to say those saves may be unusual but all in a day's work. He was especially good when Auston Matthews was out for a month with a shoulder injury near the end of the season.

According to one of the sources, "it'll sink his nomination", if proven true. "I can tell you we're vetting out Jackson", Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), the top committee Democrat, to plot strategy. We are working very hard at it. He had requested for the hearing to be delayed. "I'm not going to comment on any of the specifics, except to say we're going to be doing very close and careful scrutiny".

Amid news that his confirmation hearing has been postponed, CBS News' Steve Dorsey reported on Twitter that White House physician and Donald Trump's Veterans Affairs head nominee Ronny Jackson has been accused of improper conduct that includes "drinking on the job".

But Jackson's selection was met with questions on Capitol Hill, where lawmakers in both parties have called into question whether Jackson has the right experience to run the federal government's second-largest bureaucracy and that little has been known, until recently, about his policy views.

"We need to be asking questions and there need to be answers", he added.

"That's the process of vetting that has to occur", said Senator Richard Blumenthal, after emerging from a meeting with fellow Democrats on the committee.
