Alexis Sanchez praises "football master" Arsene Wenger

Wenger's 22-year reign at Arsenal will conclude at the end of the season, following three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup crowns.

"He may stay in the Premier League because he's a proper football man".

"We could win against the odds in the semi-final [against Atletico Madrid], go to the final and do what Manchester United did a year ago and make an entry, dramatically, into the Champions League via the Europa League".

Olivier Giroud has paid tribute to Arsene Wenger.

"Thank you for what you've done for us at @Arsenal and the football world".

"I improved so much alongside you on and off the pitch".

Alexis Sanchez, on his part, moved to Arsenal back in July 2014 and established himself as an utter fan favourite in no time, forming a formidable partnership with Mesut Ozil, before making his move to Manchester United in January 2018 in a swap deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates.

Sanchez scored for Jose Mourinho's side as they won 2-1 at Wembley, and after the game he waxed lyrical about how Wenger helped him become the player he is today.

"I have a feeling we are going to see him as a manager of an worldwide side and his biggest fan will be me, saying 'come on, get France back into being a decent side, Arsene!'" I always said he is a gentleman and a football master.

Speaking after the win, Sanchez revealed that he texted Wenger after the Frenchman made the new public.

"There were a lot of tactical aspects to his style which I wanted to add to my game so I´m even stronger in the future".
