US, allies destroyed facility that produced cancer drugs in Syria attacks

Four military bases in Syria were bombed on Saturday night, killing Iranian soldiers in a follow up strike on the heels of the earlier allied attack. Iranian soldiers were among the casualties in this attack, according to reports.

The targets included a scientific research facility near Damascus, a chemical weapons storage facility west of the city of Homs, and a third location near Homs that contained both a command post and a chemical weapons equipment storage facility, the United States military said.

Arabic media reports said locals heard the sounds of aircraft overhead, but media close to the Syrian regime and Hezbollah denied reports of an "Israeli raid". A top Pentagon official, Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie, said the action would set back Syria's chemical weapons program "for years".

"More than 100 cruise missiles and air-to-land missiles were fired by the US, Britain and France from the sea and air at Syrian military and civilian targets", the ministry said in a statement quoted by RIA Novosti news agency.

Putin added Russian Federation would convene an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council in response.

Haaretz pointed out that "Israel" is concerned about the possible United States decision to withdraw troops from Syria in light of the President Donald Trump's statements which considered that the tripartite aggression is enough.

Third-party reporting won't replace traditional reporting, but will be treated for informational purposes only. From there, police would then be able to do a formal investigation, Smyth said.

But the President hoped it would be enough to deter Assad from using chemical weapons again without being so damaging as to compel Russian Federation and Iran to intervene.

"Israel will receive the required responses sooner or later", he said, adding, "They can not take (such) an action and be exempt from punishment".

The inspectors were due to attempt to visit the site of the suspected gas attack in Douma on April 7, which medical relief organisations say killed dozens of people.

The official's admissions to the New York Times represented the first time for an Israeli source to admit that Israel warplanes had struck an Iranian position in Syria.

"Trump's resolve and Israel's support remain unchanged", Netanyahu said.

The T4 Air Airbase is home to Iranian forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah terror organization and Syrian regime forces.
