U.S. recklessness in Syria

On Friday night, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom launched strikes on a number of targets in Syria in response to the alleged chemical incident in the Damascus' suburb of Duma.

Russian Federation has already failed to have the United Nations condemn the air strikes by the US, UK and France, which Senator Molan described as "very appropriate" and precise.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on Facebook that the United States and its allies delivered a military strike against Syria precisely at a moment when the country has a chance for a peaceful future.

Defense officials for Russian Federation, which has troops on the ground in support of Syria's government forces, have denied that an attack on civilians took place, and claim it was staged by enemies of their country.

What was the objective of the attack?

Assad, Putin, Rouhani and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah have accused the West of using the strikes to sabotage an global inquiry into the chemical weapons claims. The Syrian government has categorically denied the accusation.

But British Prime Minister Theresa May said there was little doubt the Syrian government used a barrel bomb - large containers packed with fuel, explosives and scraps of metal - to deliver the chemicals at Douma.

The Pentagon could not confirm how many missiles hit their targets.

"Russian sanctions will be coming down", Haley said during a CBS interview on Sunday.

What type of missiles were fired?

"The current escalation around Syria is destructive for the entire system of global relations".

Tomahawk missiles were used in previous U.S. attacks in Syria past year in response to the use of chemical weapons in the rebel-held Khan Sheikhoun town of Idlib province.

Assad is known to have stocks of the nerve agent sarin, and has previously used a mixture of chlorine and sarin in attacks, according to United States officials.

"The combined American, British and French response to these atrocities will integrate all instruments of our national power: military, economic and diplomatic", Trump said.

Florence Parly, France's defence minister, said France provided warships in the Mediterranean Sea and sent in fighter jets stationed at airbases in France. That had led to feverish speculation on Russian television, and from some Russian politicians, that a US strike on Syria could quickly devolve into a nuclear standoff as unsafe as the Cuban missile crisis. Neither Mattis, nor Dunford, were willing to discuss Syrian or Russian resistance to the strikes.

Syrian TV is reporting that the attack on Syria targeted a scientific research center in Barzeh, near Damascus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said its partners reported some 500 people there had exhibited "signs and symptoms consistent with exposure to toxic chemicals".

In the meantime 4 Royal Air Drive Twister GR4s from RAF Akotiri and launched Storm Shadow missiles at a army facility - a former missile base - fifteen miles west of Homs, the place it's believed chemical weapons have been saved.

"Insulting the president of Russian Federation is unacceptable and inadmissible". A pre-designed scenario is being implemented.

"Again, we are being threatened".

Haley insisted in multiple interviews on Sunday that the US's actions against the Syrian regime and its supporters, which include Russian Federation, have been aggressive.

Russia's response Saturday underscored Putin's effort to use Syria to help portray himself as a guarantor of global stability, despite the torrent of western criticism. "The US - the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons - has no moral right to blame other countries".

For France's Macron, Syria red lines were credibility test
He added that he told Putin that Russian Federation was complicit in the use of chemical weapons by Syria's Assad. He said that in order to find a lasting solution in Syria , "we need to talk with Iran, Russia and Turkey ".
