Kendrick Lamar wins Pulitzer prize as Weinstein reporting also honoured

2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival- Weekend 1- Day 1

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has won the Pulitzer Prize in music for his revolutionary album, DAMN.

"On the first track, "Blood", Lamar takes a swipe by sampling audio of two Fox News reporters reciting anti-police lyrics from his Black Lives Matter anthem "Alright" - "'And they hate popo'...ugh, I don't like it'" - which he performed standing atop a police auto at the 2015 BET Awards.

Lamar's politically charged performance at the Grammy Awards in January won him wide praise.

DAMN. also won the 2018 Grammy award for Best Rap Album of the year, however, many were quick to acknowledge how curious it was his Pulitzer-worthy work still had yet to win a Grammy for Album of the Year.
