Two-Day-Old Girl Flushed Down Toilet in Kerala Clinic

Two-day-old baby flushed down toilet in Kerala's Palakkad, plumbers recover body; police probe on

A clogged toilet at a clinic led to the body of a two-day-old girl in Kerala.

The incident occurred at the house of Abdul Rahman, a doctor, Friday, April 13. To the horror of the plumbers as they tried to unblock the toilet, they noticed something which looked like a ball. On further prodding, it turned out to be the body of a girl. When they tried to pull it out, they were shocked to see her head pop up. Media reports said the doctor, Dr Abdul Rehman, witnessed a clogged toilet in his clinic, after which he called a plumber to clear the jam. Pulling the body out was hard as the placenta was still attached to it.

The police said that they are checking the records of all patients. Based on the doctor's complaint, police were also on the lookout for the couple, reported to be the infant's parents.

IPL 2018: Rain free Kolkata to host KKR vs SRH clash
It took Sunrisers a comprehensive performance to win their first game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens . SRH has taken the cake with both its outing and KKR has a mixed bag with one win against RCB and one loss to CSK.

The attached placenta, however, also suggest that the mother had given birth inside the washroom. "Investigations are underway. We are analysing the records, but we haven't been able to identify her parents yet", police sources told NDTV. "There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet".

Abdul Rahman immediately informed the local police which rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Seeing the colour of the blood, the domestic worker mistook it for muddy water, ' the cops were quoted as saying by the TNM.

The officials have sent the body of the baby girl to nearby Thrissur medical college for the post-mortem procedure.
