Trump Campaign Raises $10.1 Million as Legal Matters Grow

Donald Trump

The latest figures bring the Trump campaign's total spending on legal fees to almost $4 million since the president took office, records show. The committee reported having $28.3 million in the bank at the end of March, according to the Sunday filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Two others firms - Harding LLP and Larocca, Hornik, Rosen, Greenberg & Blaha, which are involved in the legal fight with Daniels - were paid a combined $280,000.

The joint fundraising committees that benefit Trump's campaign and the Republican National Committee transferred $6.6 million to Trump's campaign in the first quarter.

The campaign spent more than $90,000 dollars to a firm for the attorney representing Trump in the Daniels case.

In all, Trump's campaign committee and two fundraising committees that jointly raise money with the Republican National Committee - Trump Victory and the Trump Make America Great Again Committee - together raised almost $20.2 million in the first quarter, filings show.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan revealed in court papers Friday that Cohen, whose office and residences were raided by the FBI last week, has been under investigation for months.

Trump's campaign reported payments of $834,669 for legal consulting, its filing shows.

UK: No public mood for Syria airstrikes
"We can not allow the use of chemical weapons to become normalised, either in Syria , on the streets of the United Kingdom or elsewhere".

Trump has opted - unlike presidents before him - to begin fundraising in the early part of the term.

That was a big increase over the last quarter of 2017, when the three committees together raised $12.5 million.

The campaign also spent about $125,000 at Trump businesses, including Trump International Hotel, Trump restaurants, and Trump Tower.

The campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The campaign has also paid Parscale Strategy, the firm run by the 2020 reelection campaign manager Brad Parscale, almost $1.7 million so far this year.

Trump's campaign also paid $93,181 to Harder LLP, which specializes in entertainment law and reputation protection.

Along with legal fees, he also has used that income to invest in effort rallies to keep a campaign staff and also also to pay for digital advertisements focused on his fans. After McEntee, a former White House aide, was sacked he was immediately hired by the campaign. McEntee was sacked from the White House amid a Department of Homeland Security investigation into possible financial crimes, a source told CNN after he was dismissed.
