Trump approval rating at 50 percent, president responds

A new poll has revealed that Donald Trump somehow has the highest approval rating since his first 100 days in office. "Thank you America, we are doing Great Things", Trump tweeted Sunday.

In recent months, however, Rasmussen had Trump's approval rating in the high 40s and low 50s. Other recently released polls, however, have not been so kind.

President Trump's gains in adults aged 18-34 were trumped by losses among Republicans, Independents, Democrats, whites, men, and women, according to NBC News.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows that 56% of Americans disapprove of the President's job performance, while 40% approve.

For Trump, however, the number is still an improvement, marking his highest approval rating since April 2017. As far as how Trump is handling the nation's economy, respondents were pretty split: 46 percent of respondents approve of how he is handling the economy and 48 percent do not.

'Mission accomplished': Trump defends boast to describe Syria strikes
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, hours before the missile strikes. He's supposed to come to Congress to seek permission to initiate a war".

Trump's popularity also varies heavily based on various demographics.

Of the majority of Americans that live in rural parts of the country, 59 percent also approve of Trump's performance.

Most other major polls now have the president's approval rating hovering around the low 40s. A Gallup poll released Friday on Trump's favorability had similar findings, with only 38% of respondents viewing Trump favorably, as compared with 41% in December. Among those polled, 47 percent want to see Democrats controlling Congress, while just 40 percent prefer Republican control. The numbers mark a slight decline from the 10-point lead Democrats held in the poll in March.

The poll surveyed 500 people and the margin of error is 2.5 percentage points.

In both polls, voters were reached via cell phone or landline phone. The NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll was conducted April 8-11.
