The ruling and opposition parties as well as armed forces and senior judges on Sunday condemned the incidents of firing at the residence of Supreme Court judge, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan in Model Town, Lahore. The chief justice is said to be overseeing the situation himself.

Officers of the Special Branch and Forensics Agency will also be part of the team.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry.

As per the preliminary spatial observations by Crime Scene Unit (CSU), the bullet could be stray and on the final stage of its parabolic trajectory fired from a distance, said the report, adding that a search operation has been conducted on the probable direction of the bullet trajectory. Meanwhile, PSO to CM Punjab, who arrived at Justice Ahsan's residence, was not allowed to meet the top court judge by the SC administration. "The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities at the federal and provincial level to bring the culprits to task at the earliest".

In an emergent media conference here, SCBA President Pir Kalim Khurshid, Vice President Qamar Zaman Qureshi and Secretary Safdar Tarar said that some elements had sheer misconception of intimidating the honorable judges of apex court through such coward tactics.
