Renfrew County dons jerseys for Humboldt

Lawyer Maria Mitousis who was injured in an office bombing on July 3 speaks to media during a press conference in Winnipeg Wednesday

It comes six days after the Humboldt Broncos team bus was involved in a fatal crash that claimed the lives of 16 people.

"Being Canadian and hockey being so entrenched in our culture and it's such a bad tragedy to have so many young lives go in such a awful way — my brothers play sports and I play sports and you can't imagine something like that happening to your family. They're closer to the kids on the hockey team than they probably are a lot of kids they go to school with". The team donated $1,000 from the auction to the families of the young people killed in the bus crash. "It's just part of hockey".

In Pembroke and across the County of Renfrew, people of all ages donned jerseys at school or at work as they proudly shared their support across social media.

"Last week we were on a road trip on a bus to Lake Placid with the Riverside Rangers and we got off the bus on Monday, all healthy", Nicole said.
