Mom accused of letting 2-year-old smoke meth, marijuana

Authorities investigated the YMCA and all the rooms tested positive for meth. They also found white crystals in Heinz'drug den that tested positive for meth

Witnesses told police Ecker kept narcotics in her home and that she used methamphetamine. Wakulla County Sheriff's Office in their report wrote, "People "joked" about the child's ability to roll joints (for Ecker)".

Ecker admitted to using the drugs but said she never forced her daughter to use drugs. The reports did not say exactly where the child had been taken after Ecker's arrest, and it was not clear if the mother was granted bail.

On January 19, 2018, detectives executed a search warrant at Ecker's residence, located on Card Lane in Crawfordville.

Heinz was arrested and faces charges of child endangerment, criminal possession of drugs and criminal mischief.

Kaitlyn Ecker was charged with lewd and lascivious battery and transmission of harmful material to a minor, the Miami Herald reported. Authorities found a glass pipe with what appeared to be meth residue and a plastic tube full of white crystals, which tested positive for meth.

According to Fox News, 30-year-old Autumn Sienna Heinz was working at the YMCA Learning Center in Missoula County where police found methamphetamine residue on a pipe inside a hidden compartment beneath a set of cabinets.

Authorities took a blood and hair sample from both Ecker and the 2-year-old the date of the arrest and on March 15, investigators received the toxicology results.

Police said the 2-year-old girl tested positive for "chronic" drug use. The tests concluded it likely wasn't a one-time event, either. The findings were reportedly "chronic" rather than "acute", meaning the child was exposed "several times or on one or more occasions".

Heinz allegedly retreated to this area to smoke meth, attempting to reduce the fumes with a nearby restroom ventilation fan. She denied ever smoking or ingesting drugs in the presence of the child and denied any knowledge of the child being exposed to drugs. She further denied giving her child any meth or marijuana. Additionally, Ecker also denied owning the pipes.

It is unclear if Ecker is the child's mother. The report noted that the Wakulla County Sheriff's Department had been investigating the mother for several months after they toddler had been given drugs. According to her Facebook page, she works at a Walmart.
