Comey says it's possible Russians compromised Trump

Anchor George Stephanopoulos sits down with former FBI director James Comey for an exclusive interview that will air during a primetime 20/20 special on Sunday

Former FBI Director James Comey has said that it is "possible" that Russian Federation has something it can blackmail the US President Trump with, media reports said.

The former FBI director also again said Trump asked for his loyalty as the FBI, but Comey, who was appointed to the job by Trump's predecessor Barack Obama, said his loyalty is supposed to be to the American people and to the institution of the FBI.

In one highlight, Stephanopoulos said: "You write that President Trump is unethical, untethered to the truth".

Just 11 days before the election, Comey announced that the FBI would reopen an investigation into Clinton's possible misuse of a private email server while she was secretary of state - a move she has said played a part in her loss to Trump.

Comey told ABC News that the title of the book came from a "bizarre conversation" he had with Trump at the White House in January 2017 shortly after his inauguration.

"My family's had a lot of fun watching my face as I walk across, because they know that's my "oh no" face", said Comey, adding that his wife, Patricia, has watched the video and said, "That's Jim's "oh s-t" face".

In an interview with ABC News that aired Sunday night, Comey says he doesn't think Trump is medically unfit, dismissing those who question his mental state. "I don't remember spelling it out, but it had to have been, that she's going to be elected president and if I hide this from the American people, she'll be illegitimate the moment she's elected, the moment this comes out". Comey also revealed during the hearing that he documented his interactions with Trump because he was "concerned" that the President "might lie about the nature of our meeting". "I don't know", Comey said in the ABC News interview when asked whether Trump has been "compromised" by the Russians.

Speaking on Sunday's "Reliable Sources" on CNN, former presidential adviser David Gergen said that Comey "can be a showboat".

Kennedy: Unanswered questions in Facebook privacy issue
The general strategy has been to charge for special features, so users feel like they're getting something extra for their money. Any violations of the 2011 agreement could subject Facebook to fines of $41,484 per violation per user per day.

Trump's legal fate may depend on whether he succeeds in undermining the credibility of Comey and the law enforcement institutions he views as arrayed against him.

Trump fired Comey last May when Comey was in charge of the Justice Department's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, and potential connections to the Trump campaign.

Comey gave his first major TV interview since he was sacked by Trump previous year, saying that the President lies constantly and may have obstructed justice. "Isn't he master of television, this is disastrous", said Comey. "Trump said he had made the decision based on the recommendation of Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein, as well as Attorney General Jeff Sessions". He believes Americans are "duty bound" to "go to the voting booth and vote their values". "It was important to tell the email story because it's me trying to figure out how to lead well", he said. "And I said, 'Look, I don't know whether that's true or not". His "memos" are self serving and FAKE!'

"Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!" he wrote in another tweet.

"The lying about all things, large and small, in service to some code of loyalty that put the organisation above morality and above the truth", Comey said.

But on Sunday, Comey described how he also used his core to steady himself against any attempts from Trump to pull him closer.

However, at that point, Comey said the head of his security detail told him that "if I have to put you in handcuffs, we're taking you back on the Federal Bureau of Investigation plane".
