All accused acquitted in Mecca Masjid blast

Mecca Masjid blast accused Swami Aseemanand

- Surinder Rao, counsel of Aseemanand: The local police had found other people responsible for the crime in the initial probe.

Aseemanand's statement was used by investigators during the trial to prove the conspiracy. However, he later said the confession had been "coerced out" of him.

- The evidence against the accused is not satisfactory, the court said while delivering the verdict, as per Hindustan Times report.

- The theory of "Hindu terror" was a concocted one.

Investigations are now going on against two other accused.

BJP's Subramanian Swamy, meanwhile, read a larger design. "All the pieces of evidence were engineered, otherwise, there was no Hindu terror angle", ANI quoted Mani as saying.

Eleven years ago, on May 18, 2007, a powerful blast killed nine people and injured 58 during Friday prayers at Mecca Masjid near Hyderabad's Charminar.

Comey says it's possible Russians compromised Trump
But on Sunday, Comey described how he also used his core to steady himself against any attempts from Trump to pull him closer. In one highlight, Stephanopoulos said: "You write that President Trump is unethical, untethered to the truth".

Another accused Sunil Joshi died earlier.

Two other accused, former RSS pracharak Sandeep V. Dange and electrician-cum-RSS activist Ramchandra Kalsangra from MP are absconding.

Investigation against another two, Tejram Parmar and Amit Chowhan, is still on. A Rajasthan court had sentenced Devendra Gupta and another convict to life imprisonment in the Ajmer dargah blast case in March, 2017. Swami Aseemanand was acquitted in that case. Five persons were killed in subsequent police firing near the mosque as protests broke out after the blast. Nearly all of them were detained at a guest house where they alleged torture at the hands of SIT.

2010: CBI arrested other accused namely Devender Gupta and Lokesh Sharma.

The case was later handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2011.

However, the major twist in the case came in 2010, when Aseemanand, apparently moved by the plight of framed, innocent Muslim men, made a decision to come clean about the role of Hindu extremists in the blast. The Delhi judge, before whom Aseemanand recorded his statement, also appeared before the Nampally court as a witness in the Mecca Masjid case.
