Your Gmail May Have a Handy Self-Destructing E-Mail Feature Soon

This is the new Gmail design

"One of the great things about being able to search in a tap experience, is that it makes the experience quicker and with the voice search also it is quick and easy".

Google sent over a rather tongue-in-cheek confirmation that Gmail updates are coming soon.

This means that users will be able to take advantage of Google apps such as Google Calendar, Keep or Tasks and have them right at their fingertips in Gmail via a sidebar.

Meanwhile, in February this year, Google introduced a new app, Gmail Go.

As presented by TechCrunch, a small lock icon appears in the compose window for an email which represents "Confidential Mode".

It's two years since I had an experience like that. "It's a wonderful event I love it so much, I've been coming here for years, hoping..." he said.

While users of G Suite never have their emails scanned for other Gmail users, in 2014, Google updated its terms of service to ensure users had full transparency in the context of Google scanning their email content. As spotted by Techcrunch and The Verge, the new version of Gmail is expected to implement a "a fresh clean look for Gmail on the web" as well as several interesting new features. According to the report, copy and paste and printing are not allowed in this mode.

'We're working on some major updates to Gmail (they're still in draft phase)', a Google spokesperson told MailOnline. This includes Smart Replies which are already available on Gmail's mobile counterparts, snoozing messages for a later time and a few new layouts for how much information you'd like to have on the home page itself.

As of now, it's unknown whether the feature is going to be compatible with non-Gmail users. The revision states, "Our automated systems analyse your content (including emails) to provide you personally relevant product features, such as customised search results, tailored advertising, and spam and malware detection".

The company will host its annual developers conference May 8. Unless protection is offered against the incredibly simple process of taking a screenshot of any supposedly confidential mail, the whole feature might well be useless, and will simply protect against inbox searches post the expiry of the email.
