Organizers Plan Las Cruces March For Science

March for Science to be held on Saturday

University of British Columbia biology student Lauren Kasper, who is in Saskatoon on a co-op with the U of S, pointed out that science has consistently improved the quality of people's lives for generations, citing the discovery of the chickenpox vaccine.

Cigliano's message was one of many shared at the rally Saturday afternoon, where people sported "Blue Wave" shirts and signs saying "science is not a liberal conspiracy" and "I'm with her" with an arrow pointing to the earth. Organizers estimated that 15,000 people took part in San Diego's march previous year.

Protesters at Saskatoon's March for Science gathered at the Chinese Ting in Victoria Park before marching through downtown to bring awareness to the need for scientific and evidence based approaches to policy making on April 14, 2018.

Washington's event began Saturday morning with teach-ins, expos and a rally that featured speakers and musical performances before participants planned to march to the US Capitol.

"It's time for people to be aware of what's going on", said an attendee.

Stastny and Copp scored 1:42 apart, with Byfuglien sending a backhander to the front of the net that Statsny slapped in at 7:42. Laine added one helper and rookie forward Jack Roslovic, replacing injured veteran Mathieu Perreault , had a pair of assists.

"We can not make decisions unless we know the truth and we know the facts. It's not just about investment in science.it's about stipulation to fact, to truth, to knowledge, to science".

Lower Saucon resident MyLien Nguyen said she attended the rally because she supports science and wants the administration to support science.

The All India People's Science Network and the Breakthrough Science Society, two non-government organisations which have scientists from academic institutions among its members, said the march was aimed to demonstrate resistance to government's "apathy and disdain for science".

"There's no room for climate deniers", she said.
