Bon Jovi reunites to enter Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

"When you consider that about 125 bands or acts in the Hall, and when you consider that every kid who has ever strummed a guitar in their garage strives to get to that place - I am proud to be associated with that", Bon Jovi says. It was a surprise for the group members in attendance: Jon Bon Jovi (with his wife and four children), David Bryan, Tico Torres, Hugh McDonald, Richie Sambora, and Alec John Such (who will be inducted tonight).

The jazzy and soulful Simone, who died in 2003, was a leader in pushing for civil rights and influenced the likes of Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin.

Founded in Boston, The Cars had a strong connection to Cleveland, the hometown of late bassist Benjamin Orr, who sang lead vocals on some the band's biggest hits like "Just What I Needed", "Bye Bye Love" and "Drive". She was a pioneering guitarist who performed gospel music and was known to some as "the godmother of rock "n" roll".

This Saturday, thousands of people will descend upon the noted music mecca of Cleveland to watch six acts get a well-deserved induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They went on to record classic rock anthems including "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".

Simone received a passionate and show-stopping tribute from groundbreaking performers who she has deeply inspired, from Lauryn Hill to Mary J. Blige. This year marked the band's third nomination; Brandon Flowers, of The Killers, will induct the band.

Stern joked about Rock Hall co-founder Jann Wenner, questioning why he was qualified to vote on who enters the prominent organization. All of the inductees had to have released their first recording no later than 1992 to be eligible.

The event will air May 5 on HBO and will also be heard on SiriusXM Radio.
