Apple Offering Free Apple Watch Series 2 Repairs Due To Swollen Batteries

Apple will repair Series 2 watch batteries for free

Customers looking for a refund on a previously paid Apple Watch Series 2 battery replacement should contact support.

Apple this week initiated a new service program that grants free, out of warranty repairs to Apple Watch Series 2 owners whose device suffers from a swollen battery or refuses to turn on. According to a leaked internal document, the new Apple Watch service program started yesterday. It is also important to note that the length of time for the service is three years from the time of purchase. Coverage is also apparently limited to the 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 models, including the Sport Edition, Hermès, and Nike+ SKUs.

"Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Series 2 devices may not power on or they may experience an expanded battery", wrote the firm.

To remedy the problem, Apple says it is offering to service eligible devices for free.

Kidambi Srikanth tried to make a comeback with a couple of points but he fell short to the incredible grit of the Malaysian. Lee was on his brilliant best at the start of the game and scored four points in succession with masterful strokes.

This do not include the 38mm units or any other Apple Watch models, although Apple instituted a similar plan for original versions.

Batteries are the bane of mobile device makers-companies have to ensure that battery life is sufficient, and just as importantly, are well constructed and won't die prematurely or, even worse, overheat and catch on fire and explode.

The first-generation Apple Watch (Series o) seemingly suffered from the same problem, with Apple implementing a similar 3-year fix program for affected users. 42mm Series 2 models plagued by either of these issues, including swollen batteries that have dislodged the display, are eligible for free repairs.
