Donald Trump seethes over Federal Bureau of Investigation raid, ponders firing Rosenstein, Mueller

Michael Cohen personal attorney for US President Donald Trump arrives to appear before Senate Intelligence Committee staff as the panel investigates alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election

Michael Cohen, personal lawyer for President-elect Donald Trump, gets into an elevator at Trump Tower, December 12, 2016 in New York City. The warrant was personally approved by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, as opposed to AG Jeff Sessions who has recused himself, but it was carried out by the office of Geoffrey S. Berman, interim USA attorney for the southern District of NY, suggesting its subject matter fell outside Mueller's probe.

Contrary to the dramatic portrayals in some movies and television shows, obtaining a federal search warrant-especially when it's to search the offices of a lawyer-is not an effortless feat. Aside from that, we don't know the names of everyone who participated in securing this one; the New York Times first noted that the USA attorney in charge of the New York jurisdiction involved was Geoffrey Berman, who worked on Trump's campaign, though the paper reported in a subsequent piece, relying on an anonymous source, that Berman recused himself from the case. All appropriate steps were carried out.

He's Trump's image-protector. He also says he personally paid porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 to buy her silence about an alleged affair with his boss. It would be legal malpractice for authorities not to determine whether any criminal laws were broken.

Cohen has been referred to at different times as Trump's fixer, "pit bull", and consigliere.

During the 2016 campaign, Cohen served as a liaison between Trump and the Enquirer as the tabloid paid for scandalous rumors and tips about Trump that it never published.

"He certainly believes that he has the power to do so", she said at Tuesday's (Wednesday NZT) press briefing.

Sanders declined to comment on whether the president will fire his deputy attorney general or special counsel Robert Mueller amid mounting frustrations with both.

Cohen didn't follow Trump to the White House after the election, instead leveraging his influence to include a partnership with a Washington law firm and a senior position with the Republican National Committee's finance team.

Mark Zuckerberg speaks out over fears Facebook is 'gathering data on everyone'
The talks took place as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was giving evidence for a second day to USA lawmakers in Washington. Diamond said. "And why is he turning Facebook into a political playground for Democrats?" He was cut off.

"Put otherwise, the basic calculus - legal and tactical - of whether to do the search wouldn't have varied based on the supposition that maybe they'd get lucky and find some non-privileged incriminating documents", Litman said. "I will always protect Mr. Trump". In the weeks after, several women said publicly that Trump had subjected them to unwanted sexual advances.

For Rowley, the Russiagate investigation, grounded in the idea that there are political connections between Trump's presidential campaign, election victory and presidential administration and the Russian government, has strong similarities to that of the Whitewater real estate controversy during Bill Clinton's administration, which later grew into the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.

Trump called the raid against his lawyer an "attack on our country in a true sense".

Cohen's attorney released a terse statement Monday arguing that the documents seized included "the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients". Legal experts said Trump's communications with Cohen that do not involve seeking legal advice would not be covered by that protection.

Trump hired Cohen later that year as executive vice president of The Trump Organization and special counsel to Trump.

Asked on Monday after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raids if he would fire Mueller, Trump replied, "We'll see what happens". The payment was made using a newly-formed DE corporation called Essential Consultants LLC, and an attorney for Daniels now claims she is not bound to silence because the contract was not signed by Trump.

Then, late last week, Trump said he did not know of the payment.
