Isaac Haas will not go down without a fight

NCAA Latest UNC hasn't lost tourney game in home state

Haas fell to the floor during Purdue's victory over Cal State Fullerton on Friday and appeared in a good deal of pain, but he left the game only briefly before returning.

Injured center Isaac Haas did not play for the Boilermakers.

Here's a look at Haas warming up with the brace on his right elbow.

Purdue athletics released a statement shortly after the conclusion of Friday's game confirming the fracture, and announced Haas would miss the remainder of the season.

"He wants to play", Painter said. "He worked really hard". When guys get to this moment, this is their time, and now that's been obviously taken away from him. It's part of competition.

Man Arrested for Bomb Threat That Shut Down SXSW Concert
This week saw two people killed in Austin after three packages delivered to residential homes exploded. According to the city's statement, the police found no evidence of a threat after inspecting the area.

The Bulldogs (21-13) may also be limited Sunday as guard Paul Jorgenson is listed as a game-time decision because of an ankle injury.

That was win No. 7 in what would become a 19-game winning streak for the Boilermakers, who finished the regular season with a 26-5 record, including 15-3 in conference play. He needs to be cleared by the NCAA to use the brace, and head coach Matt Painter will probably advise him against playing, but he could get in there.

"I just gotta step up", Haarms said. "His future is more important". Edwards has been Purdue's best scorer for a month, but he always had Haas' post scoring to help carry the load. The likely replacement in the starting rotation is 7-foot-4 freshman Matt Haarms, who averaged 4.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 16.6 minutes off the bench. But it's not insane to think playing without Haas could be advantageous, at least on Sunday. "He's a great player, he went on and played 15, 16 years in the National Basketball Association after the broken leg", Huggins said.

In a 15-point December win over Butler, Haas scored his usual 15 points, but everyone else stepped up too. "At that point in time it was pretty choppy ..." This in-state rivalry is already played every other year but this one has a lot more meaning. This edition of the Bulldogs has been as effective as any in recent years, with senior forward Kelan Martin leading the way for Butler's offense. Both teams have clearly changed since that meeting but an injury is the biggest storyline. You know shots, they don't go sometimes, it happens. "We're going to go out and play for him". "So he can go out there and get in warmups and do things, but I don't think he's going to play", Painter said.

The victor of Sunday's game will advance to the Sweet 16 and play No. 3 seed Texas Tech or No. 6 seed Florida at TD Garden in Boston.
