Fired FBI official Andrew McCabe kept personal memos regarding Trump

Republicans Warn Trump to Back Off After Weekend of Tweets Threaten Mueller Investigation

Mueller is now investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. The Republican president has renewed his Twitter attacks on both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Mueller's probe since the firing Friday of the bureau's former deputy director, Andrew McCabe, days before he was eligible to retire with a full pension.

Stephanopoulos asked Schiff about the president's tweets and a statement by Trump attorney John Dowd to The Daily Beast on Saturday suggesting that the Justice Department official who appointed Mueller end the probe. "WITCH HUNT!" Trump was referring to a dossier of anti-Trump research funded by the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton's campaign. The Associated Press reported that McCabe's memos have been provided to Mueller, who's investigating possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Russian Federation. "I see no cause when it comes to Mr. Mueller", Graham said, later adding he believed the Mueller was "doing a good job".

Republicans strongly cautioned the President and his team to let Mueller do his work.

Mr Trump's attacks raised new concerns among members of Congress that he could be seeking to orchestrate Mr Mueller's firing.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican and an informal adviser to Trump, said it would be inappropriate for the president to try to fire Mueller.

Former FBI director James Comey has seen his memoir shoot to the top of bestseller lists nearly a month ahead of its release, apparently helped along by his snarky tweet to President Donald Trump.

Trump also claimed Comey lied under oath at a Senate hearing by saying he had never been an anonymous source.

Republican allies of the president have seized upon the fact some of Mueller's team - seven out of 17 lawyers according to The Washington Post - previously donated money to Democratic political candidates.

The Big Ten dominated the team standings, taking the top four spots with Iowa (97) and MI (80) following the Lions and Bucks. By wracking up results, Penn State piled up points and is taking a commanding 120.5 to 109.5 lead going into the finals.

Sen. Jeff Flake says he's "very surprised" that McCabe was sacked before an inspector general's report was released.

Congressman Trey Gowdy, another South Carolina Republican, told Fox News, "I think the president's lawyer does a disservice when he says that and frames the investigation that way". Comey, who is releasing a book next month, tweeted Saturday after McCabe's firing: "Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not", Comey wrote, responding to Trump and teasing his own book in one fell swoop.

In an Oval Office meeting in May, Trump asked McCabe whom he had voted for in the 2016 election, several current and former US officials have told The Post, and he complained about the political donations McCabe's wife received for her failed 2015 Virginia state Senate campaign.

"It is part of this administration's ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the special counsel investigation, which continue to this day", he added. An upcoming inspector general's report is expected to conclude that McCabe had authorized the release of information to the media and was not forthcoming with the watchdog office as it examined the bureau's handling of an investigation into Clinton's emails.

Dowd told the AP that he wasn't calling on Rosenstein to fire the special counsel immediately and hadn't discussed with him the idea of dismissing Mueller or ending the probe.

McCabe has been a frequent target of Trump's anger and criticism.

Those memos could be fodder for Mueller's probe regarding potential obstruction of justice by the USA leader.
