Ford Mustang Brings Back California Special

The Ford Mustang GT California Special is back this summer!

The Blue Oval on Monday announced the return of the Mustang California Special, a special treatment that dates back to the original Mustang. "This adds just a little more excitement for Mustang fans". One - inspired by the 1967 Shelby GT notchback coupe prototype - came to be called the California Special.

The original version, pictured below, featured a blacked-out grille, fog lamps and self-proclaimed "over-the-top" racing stripes. New five-spoke wheels, blacked-out grille, and a front splitter borrowed from the Performance Pack 1 round out the cosmetic changes.

The manual transmission-equipped GT version, which is good for 460 horsepower, gets automatic rev-matching - a boon for anyone who wants to take their California special on a rip down the nearest twisty road.

Climb inside the new GT Calfiornia Special and you'll be greeted by seats trimmed in black Miko® suede with red accent stitching and embossed GT/CS insignias, paired with embroidered GT/CS floor mats.

Advanced rev-matching helps smooth out shifts by predicting shifts and then quickly matching engine rpm - similar to the heel-and-toe methods the pros use.

It's all happening! She's going to face Charlotte at WrestleMania 34! Charlotte begins to celebrate and Asuka's music hits. While the match started off slightly slow, things started to pick up towards the end and it was also a clean match.

Ford on Monday also announced some general updates for the 2019 Mustang range.

Also on the tech side is the B&O Play 1,000-watt sound system with 12 speakers and a 10-channel amplifier. The active exhaust and start quiet modes are also included.

Ford says the California Special Mustang will be available in a variety of vibrant-looking paint jobs including, crucially, the same Dark Highland Green that comes on the Bullitt.

"These intense new colors trace back to Mustang's classic colors of the late 1960s and early 1970s", said Holter.
