Digitimes claims that Apple was originally going to use a Chinese manufacturer to make displays for this new cheaper MacBook, but has ultimately made a decision to use LG Display due to quality issues from earlier test production.

We'd guess that it'll likely be a good deal more affordable than the cheapest current means to get an Apple laptop with a Retina screen, which is the vanilla 12-inch MacBook that starts at $1,299 (£1,249 or AU$1,899). However, it looks like the price is going to be similar to the current one, especially since Apple chose to include Retina Display for the MacBook Air 2018. Instead, MacBook Pro feature Air owners wanted for years is finally making its way to the notebook. Reportedly, the upcoming "budget" MacBook will borrow the MacBook Pro's 13.3-inch display that comes with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels - panels for which are expected to be sourced from Korea-based LG Display.

Sources familiar with Apple's supply chain told Digitimes that the new entry-level MacBook will be launched at the end of the second quarter, priced "bout the same level as that of the existing MacBook Air or slightly higher". The current MacBook Pro has the same 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution.

LG Display will begin supplying the panel in April with the new MacBook scheduled to enter mass production at the end of May or the beginning of June. That's a lot higher than the 1440 x 900 in today's Air and it's even sharper than the 12-inch MacBook's 2304 x 1440.

Tim McGraw reportedly collapses onstage in Dublin
After her announcement Hill performed a gospel song called "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and ended the show. The duo is scheduled to begin their 29-city Soul2Soul tour in the USA on May 31 in Richmond, Virginia.

Quanta / Foxconn will make a split of the orders 70 / 30 respectively.

According to DigiTimes, Apple is expected to ship around four million units of this new 13-inch MacBook during the course of 2018.

"In other supply chain news it's noted that Apple is to release a new low-cost 9.7" iPad in Q2 and a new iPad Pro in the second half of the year.
