Cops: Missing girl changed paperwork to list man as…

Man signed 'endangered' teen out of Lehigh Valley Academy 10 times, police say

A sixteen-year-old girl who has been missing with a 45-year-old man since Wednesday named him as her stepfather on paperwork at her school so that he could sign her out without her mother's knowledge.

NBC reports that Miu Yu, the mother of 16-year-old Amy Yu had already called school officials at Lehigh Valley Academy Charter School in Hanover Township, Northampton County, to inquire about Kevin Esterly illegally checking her child out of school on Monday.

Amy Yu, age 16, and Kevin Esterly, age 45, "were last seen together around 7:09 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 near North 15th St. and West Allen Allentown, PA", according to a missing poster in the case. "A warrant for Esterly's arrest for interference with the custody of a child was also issued".

Esterly signed Yu out of school without her parents' permission 10 times between November and February, according to court documents obtained by The Morning Call.

The mother called police again on February 15, and officers arrived to tell Esterly and his wife, Stacey, to stay away from the family's home.

Mauser said when Yu's mother, Miu Luu, came to pick up her daughter from school on February 9, she learned Esterly had already picked up the girl.

Then, on Monday, Amy's mom dropped Amy and John off at the bus stop.

Browns to trade Danny Shelton to Patriots
Shelton never lived up to his first-round status here, and could fare better as a pure nosetackle in Belichick's 3-4 scheme. Shelton was a natural fit in the defense as a nose tackle that clogged the middle of the line.

Esterly and Yu were last seen near her home in Allentown and are likely in Esterly's 1999 red Honda Accord.

She declined to comment on whether Esterly was on Yu's emergency contact list. According to police, Amy altered her school records and put Esterly down as her stepfather, allowing him to sign her out of school. Mauser said Luu was upset and said Esterly should not have picked her daughter up.

Police said Yu was last seen with Esterly at about 7:09 North 15th and West Allen Streets.

Yu's younger brother John spoke with local network WFMZ-TV alongside his mother on Thursday. Esterly, a white male, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds.

Yu's mother, Mul Luu, said she came home and discovered Amy's passport missing along with cash, the New York Daily News reported. Amy is described as an Asian female who stands 4 feet 11 inches and weighs 90 pounds. Yu's personal documents and jewelry had been taken from her room, her mother said.

Anyone with information about the pair is asked to call 911, or the Allentown Police Communications Center at 610-437-7751.
