Senators trade Derick Brassard to Penguins

Ottawa Senators Center Derick Brassard (19) celebrates a goal to make it 1-1 in the first period during a game between the Nashville Predators and Ottawa Senators on November 17, 2016, at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, On.

The Golden Knights will receive Penguins winger Ryan Reaves and a fourth-round pick from the Vancouver Canucks in a three-team deal in which Vegas gave up American Hockey League prospect Tobias Lindberg.

The Ottawa Senators have traded center Derick Brassard to the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of a three-team deal with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Senators are also retaining 18% of Brassard's salary and cap hit. The Penguins drafted him in the second-round of the 2016 NHL Draft. The 6-2, 184-pound native of Skelleftea, Sweden, now plays for Lulea in the Swedish Hockey League, where he has posted an 8-9-0 record with a 2.16 goals-against-average and.917 save percentage in 18 games.

He was Sweden's starting goaltender at the 2018 world junior championship and was named the tournament's top goaltender after posting a 1.81 GAA and.924 save percentage in six games. Dreger, among other sources, is also reporting that the Vegas Golden Knights are also involved in the deal somehow.

As recently as Tuesday Trump was calling Russian interference in the election that landed him in the White House " fake news ". On Friday, Mueller returned a 37-page indictment against 13 Russian nationals for interfering in the 2016 election.

They likely won't be done before Monday's trade deadline, either.

Cole, 29, has put up 13 points in 47 games this year.

The Senators have struggled this season and have been looking to shake up their roster.

According to a release from the Penguins, the team is sending defenseman Ian Cole, goalie Filip Gustavsson, a 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2019 third-round selection to the Senators. Dreger indicated on TSN on Thursday that multiple players could be on the way out of Ottawa, with defenseman Erik Karlsson being the top prize. He has played eight seasons with St. Louis Pittsburgh, helping the Penguins win the last two Stanley Cup titles.
