Sean Miller Among Those Implicated In Latest College Basketball FBI Scandal Report

Late on Friday night, ESPN reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has wiretaps of phone conversations where Miller discusses paying $100,000 to make sure freshman forward Deandre Ayton signed with Arizona.

During the conversation, Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure freshman Deandre Ayton would sign with the Wildcats.

Former assistant coaches Book Richardson and Joe Pasternack were named in the report and the emails illustrate the relationship Dawkins said he had with the Arizona program. Dawkins, according to the report, was instructed by the Arizona head coach to go directly through him for Aytons services.

Ayton, who is averaging 19.6 points and 10.9 rebounds this season, is expected to be a high first-round draft pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

It has been nearly six months since the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested four assistant basketball coaches in conjunction with a massive scandal and, earlier this week, documents emerged that implicated specific players in association with dollar amounts.

However, the players and the coaching staff were certainly not the only ones who were bowled over by this historic win. Says U.S. curler John Landsteiner: "Bring on Sweden". "You are an inspiration to us all and a reminder to #DreamBig".

"The telephone calls between Miller and Dawkins were among 3,000 hours of conversations intercepted from Dawkins' phone alone by the Federal Bureau of Investigation".

Richardson, who was sacked on January 11, was arrested by the FBI on September 27 during the initial rollout of the two-year investigation's findings.

Miller has been UA's head basketball coach since 2009.

On Oct. 3, Arizona president Robert C. Robbins said the following in a publicized statement.

The news comes less than 48 hours after star guard Allonzo Trier was ruled ineligible for the second time in two years because of testing positive for a banned substance. Originally from Bahamas, Ayton was the consensus top-ranked recruit in the 2017 signing class, ultimately choosing to play at Arizona over Kansas and Kentucky.
