Lloyd's and Kanye West settle £7.4m suit

The lawsuit was over 21 cancelled tour dates

Doctors from UCLA and physicians provided by Lloyd's both concluded that West's medical condition require he not continue with the tour.

A spokesperson for Lloyd's of London confirmed that the company had settled the suit but said it was not commenting on it.

It's now water under the bridge for insurer Lloyd's of London and rapper Kanye West.

The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed but according to TMZ, West - who has children North, four, Saint, two, and four-week-old Chicago with wife Kim Kardashian West - has received most of what was due under the policy.

On Wednesday, Lloyd's settled their case with West for an undisclosed sum. Well, that case has now been dismissed by Los Angeles federal court Judge Charles Eick after the parties "amicably resolved" the matter. He had been hospitalized in November 2016 after a series of concerts he gave where he went on freakish rants about Donald Trump and his friend Jay-Z.

During West's Saint Pablo Tour in 2016, he canceled due to medical reasons and checked himself into a California treatment center. A few weeks after West's filing, Lloyd's of London submitted a countersuit against West and Very Good Touring.

Kanye West performs at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music festival in Las Vegas. West and his group Very Good Touring had asked for $10 million and a jury trial.

Lloyd's countersued, claiming that West's alleged use of alcohol and marijuana violated a clause in his contract, and may have been a factor in his apparent breakdown.
