Text of Trump Jr. Letter: 'You Are an Awful, Awful Person'

White Powder Letter to Donald Trump Jr Said Awful Person

Vanessa Trump was taken to the healing facility as a safety measure, police said.

Trump's wife, Vanessa, was taken to a hospital on Monday after opening the envelope in her mother's Manhattan apartment. She called 911 to report coughing and nausea.

Mrs Trump, 40, had opened the letter after it was handed to her by her mother.

A spokesperson for the New York Police Department declined to comment. Out of caution, officials say investigators will conduct a thorough probe of the event.

Inside the envelope and alongside the powder, however, there was a letter addressed to Donald Trump Jr, the contents of which have now been published.

"You are an bad, terrible person", the text of the letter, which reportedly was mailed from Boston, reads. A spokesperson speaking on behalf of the police read the letters to reporters from NBC on the 13th of February. This is why people hate you.

On Tuesday, the couple was seen for the first time since the white powder scare.

The "white powder", according to the New York Post, was thought to be cornstarch.

U.S. authorities have been on alert for mail with white powder in it since 2001, when envelopes laced with anthrax were sent to media outlets and USA politicians, killing five people. Nonetheless, the letter itself was threatening.

Trump Jr. tweeted Monday about the "scary situation," saying it was "Truly disgusting that certain individuals choose to express their opposing views with such disturbing behavior".
