Smashing Pumpkins reportedly tried to include ex-bassist in reunion

As documented in a slew of text messages between Corgan and Wretzky, which were publicly released by the latter, talks of D'arcy taking part in a classic Pumpkins reunion disintegrated fairly quickly.

You'll want to read the whole thing here. "But if you don't want to be on a t-shirt then the kids are happy to buy something else".

Today (Feb. 14), the first real interview with Wretzky in 20 years has been published by Alternative Nation, and she pulls no punches, attacking Corgan for being "incredibly abusive" in the past and adding that he "loved to humiliate people and shame people in front of other people". "[Billy] has been telling people, "Well [The Smashing Pumpkins] haven't played with [D'arcy] at all in eighteen years".

"He's never invited me to anything".

"He did the solo album tour, and he didn't tell me when it started", she says.

Wretzky now has released screenshots of text messages from Corgan saying, "as far as you not being involved, there was never any decision to shut you out, or make you not welcome". Wretzky told the site that Corgan "thinks it's a privilege for anyone to be in his presence, so therefore he shouldn't have to tell me, and I shouldn't have to be invited".

For a long time I didn't do it because I knew Billy would take credit for it. I honestly think he may have a brain tumor.

European Union growth approaches pre-crisis levels
Gross domestic product is forecast to advance 0.4% on quarter in three months to December. At 5.00 am ET, Eurostat is slated to release euro area GDP and industrial production data.

The bassist also says she suffered a miscarriage as a result of the stress she endured during recording sessions, which she describes as "always a fucking nightmare". Nobody knows that... The band doesn't know that, nobody knows that. "That was apparently the plan all along", she says.

In a rare interview, the bass player fired back against statements issued by a band spokesperson, and said frontman Billy Corgan saying he had invited her to come out and play with the band was "a complete lie". He called me and left me a message. It was kind of like a Parent Trap, we got Parent Trapped. "It was kind of amusing".

The band's statement concluded with well wishes for Wretzky. "Not in this lifetime".

"There's so much ugliness", Wretzky said. Now I don't hate him, I'm back to where I was at the beginning. "I think he and [drummer] Jimmy [Chamberlin] got in a couple fights, and he and [guitarist] James [Iha] maybe five, but with he and I, it was screaming matches all the time".

You should have heard him the day he validated Mozart's music [laughs]. James and I wanted to strangle him. These are classically trained people, and I'm classically trained as well.

However, after the offer was pulled, she said he said via text that both Iha-who D'arcy has kept in touch with over the past 16 years-and Chamberlin were "with him" on that decision to reunite without her. [Groans] What was the question?
