Rahul Gandhi seeks apology from RSS for 'insulting' remarks on Indian Army

RSS ready to fight on border says Mohan Bhagwat

"If the country requires and the country's Constitution allows, the RSS is ready to fight on the borders against the enemy", he said. He cited examples of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia and Congo, and said India can not allow such a development.

The RSS, however, issued a clarification on Monday saying Bhagwat's statement was misrepresented. "Hindu terror", the CPI-M leader said. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) questioned why a minister was defending the RSS chief. Terming it as "an insult to every Indian", the Gandhi scion said that the comment disrespects our martyrs. "This exposes the RSS game plan to form a parallel army and shatter the country's unity and create anarchy". Parallel army is talking about what we have always warned against.

While speaking at a zilla school ground on the last day of his six-day visit of Muzaffarpur, Bhagwat on Sunday had said the organisation has the ability to prepare an "army" to fight for the country within three days, if such a situation arises.

Vaidya added that Bhagwat's remark was not a comparison between the Indian Army and the Sangh Swayamsevaks, but a comparison between general society and swayamsevaks, when given the opportunity to be trained by the Indian Army. Bhagwat had stirred a row on Sunday after he compared Sangh cadre with Indian Army personnel.

Korea's 'commie' Moon: the real winner of the Winter Olympics?
The South Korea coverage was down from the Sochi Winter Olympics' Opening Ceremony, which delivered an 18.5 rating four years ago. Dozens of North Korean cheering group members dressed in red were at the Kwandong Hockey Center to root for the Korean team.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kirren Rijiju came to the support of Bhagwat. "PM Shri. Narendra Modi should clarify his Govt's position over Bhagwat belittling Indian Army.", the Kerala CM added. In emergency situation (not Congress emergency), every Indian must volunteer to stand with Defence Forces.

"After the tweet of Rijiju, it has become even more evident that this government is being remote controlled by the RSS", Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien alleged.

Mohan Bhagwat's comments have been criticized from politicians, as he has been told to have disrespected the Indian Army by claiming that the members of his party can form a force in just three days while it is going to take the Indian Army six months to do the same.
