NBC will livestream key Olympic moments on Snapchat

NBC WInterOlympics 8Feb2018

For two and a half weeks, the networks and streaming platforms of NBCUniversal, which owns exclusive broadcast rights, will air so much skating, skiing and hockey you'll need multiple screens and DVRs to keep up with it all - more than 2,400 hours, in all.

All of NBC's networks will feature coverage from the Olympics. The competition actually will start Wednesday night, when USA siblings Matt and Becca Hamilton will face off in the debut of mixed doubles curling. It continues to astonish us that NBC doesn't sell an NBC Sports Gold pass to the Olympics, as they do with various specific sports.

Thursday was only the beginning of the Winter Olympics 2018 action, with events in 15 different sports across 12 venues scheduled to last viewers until the closing ceremonies on February 25.

As with CNBC, USA will feature over 40 hours of Olympics coverage, also specialized.

If you're looking for Americans to make some noise, three-time Olympic medalist J.R. Celski finished third in the 1500m at the most recent World Cup race, as did the American relay team, and both should be in contention once again.

US IOC member suggests joint Korean team for Nobel Peace Prize
She was promoted past year to the country's Politburo, the senior body of North Korea's communist party, as an alternate member. It warned against agreeing to talks before North Korea scrapped its nuclear program, saying it would only "benefit the enemy".

The 2018 Winter Olympics are officially in full swing, and if you're not near a TV, you might be wondering how to stream them. Once signed up, you can watch any of the channels on your computer via the DirecTV Now website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the DirecTV Now app.

The subscription requirement also applies to coverage on virtual-reality headsets.

I cut the cord already.

If you don't have cable, standalone streaming TV services are your best bet, like YouTube TV. But to watch online, you'll still need to be a paying cable or satellite subscriber. If nothing else, you can at least get what's airing on your local NBC affiliate by hustling to any big box store and picking up an indoor HDTV antenna. Unfortunately, majority require a subscription, but luckily for consumers, no contract is required for most OTT TV services making it easy to cancel after one month if they're interested in the service for just the Olympic games.

Haven't yet subscribed to a live-TV streamer? Go to the websites' sign-up pages, and you will usually be asked to enter your zip code in order to confirm what's available.
