Nokia 8 Price Dropped in India from Rs 36999 to Rs 28999

The Nokia 5 and Nokia 8 have gotten significant price drops, just weeks ahead of the MWC 2018 when HMD Global plans to unveil new phones.

HMD Global, the official licensee for Nokia brand of smartphones, launched the Nokia 5 in India last August and then later in September launched the Nokia 8. The phone has also reportedly got a price cut of Rs 8,000 and now after the price cut, it is available for Rs 28,999. Though the company has confirmed the price cut for the two phones, the new prices have not yet been updated on Flipkart or Amazon.

The Nokia 5 includes a 5.2-inch display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. There is also option up to 256GB expandable storage using a microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, the Nokia 5 has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nokia 5 features 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The memory is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card support. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and ships with a 3000 mAh battery. Both sensors have an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 76.9-degree wide-angle lens and accompanied with a dual-tone LED flash and an IR rangefinder.

On the front side, there's a 13-megapixel camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and 78.4-degree wide-angle lens. All three cameras come with Carl Zeiss optics. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1 port. The handset also has an IP54-rated build that is splash-resistant. Interestingly, the smartphone comes with a "bothie" feature that allows users to capture photos or videos from both the rear and the front at the same time.
