Patriots TE Gronkowski leaves with head injury

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski collides with Jacksonville Jaguars strong safety Barry Church and was taken off the field during the second quarter of the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium on Sunday January 2

In the final minutes of the first half of the New England Patriots' tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium, Tom Brady zipped a pass up the seam intended for Rob Gronkowski. He remained there being evaluated to start the second half and was officially ruled out at the start of the fourth quarter. Church was flagged 15 yards for unnecessary roughness and headed into the locker room for evaluation.

Before exiting the game, the tight end had caught one pass for 21 yards. He went straight to the locker room and is reportedly in the concussion protocol, making it unlikely he returns. No word on his status for the second half. However, the Patriots began to look his way prior to him going down with the injury, and he is always a threat to make a big play late.

Focus for Vikings on Sunday should be Eagles' running game
Still, it's Ramsey's Super Bowl guarantee for the Jaguars that figures to provide motivation for the Patriots. The Vikings have the most stability and continuity at the quarterback position with Keenum.

Running back Leonard Fournette just plowed into the end zone for a 14-3 lead over the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

Gronk took a shot to the head and came up a bit woozy.
