Instagram's Text Only Stories Are Here… Sort Of

Instagram declined to comment directly on the potential feature, sending along a generic response that it's always working on new, cool stuff. On choosing Type from there, users can write the desired text and choose one from the many options for the background color and fancy fonts.

Recently it was discovered that Instagram is testing out a new "Type" feature for Stories which basically lets users create more text-focused Stories. We have learnt that the feature is now available only for a few select users, albeit on both Android and iOS.

It is said that this feature appears as a separate option at the bottom of the Stories camera along with other options such as Live and Boomerang. The feature was first spotted in December, but Instagram is now rolling it out to users in other countries.

You can even add your own photo as the background, and Instagram will automatically add a filter to your image to make the text easy to read, TNW notes. The feature is not different from what we have seen already on Instagram and it is similar to the text status that is seen on Whatsapp and Facebook with colorful backdrops.

Another report from WABetaInfo Instagram is testing out a security feature on its app.

Grujic swaps Liverpool for Cardiff until end of season
Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Marko Grujic from Liverpool , the club's official website confirmed today .

After implementation, the alert would first be announced upon taking a screenshot of someone else's story, making you aware that, from then on, subsequent screenshots would notify the person that you've taken a screenshot of his or her story.

And, as shown by Snapchat's major dipinearnings previous year, it appears that people have moved from one app to another altogether for their "story" needs.

In a global test, Instagram is letting select users post their Stories directly to their WhatsApp account.

Previously the company supported notifications for screenshot of direct messages, but this is the first time we've seen it for stories.
