I'm alive and kicking - Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

The leader of Islamic movement of Nigeria (IMN), popularly known has Shiite group Shiek Ibrahim El-Zakzaky on Saturday spoke to newsmen.

El-zakzaky who is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), disclosed this on Saturday while addressing journalists.

Earlier this week, rumors of El-Zakzaky's death ran rampant in Nigeria.

The sect had in July 2014 similarly encountered the military and three of El-Zakzaky children were among those cut down in the violence. He has been held without trial despite court orders directing his release. The disclosure came on the heels of rumours that he has passed on in detention.

Their continued detention has sparked several reactions from his supporters, the government and even human rights lawyer, Femi Falana. He is later driven away in a Toyota Prado SUV.

Speaking briefly at the DSS facility in Abuja, yesterday El- Zakzaky said his health condition has improved and thanked the security agents for the kind treatment being extended to him.

Who will be Buffett's successor?
Buffett said on CNBC on Wednesday that the new board members are "part of a movement toward succession over time". Buffett and Charlie Munger, Berkshire Hathaway's vice chairman, will keep their positions on the board.

He said: "It was severe on me on Monday, but subsequently, it started subsiding and for the first time at least, the security has allowed me to see my own doctor".

"I am feeling better, the security [officers] have allowed me to see my doctor, my personal doctor".

Reacting to Mr. El-Zakzaky's appearance, the IMN spokesperson, Ibrahim Musa, told PREMIUM TIMES on telephone that none of the IMN members were aware of the arrangement.

Explaining the reasons for showing him to the public with his wife, the spokesperson of DSS, Mr. Nnanna Nnochiri, said that it was basically to dispel his death rumour.

The IMN leader and his wife were arrested on December 14, 2015in Zaria following a clampdown on Shiites by the Nigerian Army.

The Federal Government has refused to obey the ruling of a Federal High Court which ordered their unconditional release in 2016.
