Bills fire offensive coordinator Dennison

The Buffalo Bills on Friday fired offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, the team announced.

In that lone season, the offensive statistics suffered for the Buffalo Bills. But under Dennison's supervision, the offense struggled and finished at or near the bottom of the league in several statistical categories. They ranked 29th in the league in total yards (302.6 yards per game) and 22nd in scoring (18.9 points per game), while averaging an abysmal 176.6 passing yards per game.

The move comes five days after Buffalo was ousted in its first playoff appearance in 17 seasons, via a 10-3 loss at Jacksonville in the wild-card round.

Dennison was often criticized for his play calling.

Prior to the Bills meeting the Panthers in Week 2 this season, McDermott said, "Mike Shula does an incredible job of moving pieces around" and called the Panthers a "very dynamic offense". The team's rushing attack was the sixth-best in the NFL.

Texas failed to educate, monitor disabled students: federal report
Texas now lacks both a special education director and a long-term plan for overhauling special education, leaving parents and advocates frustrated and concerned.

The decision to part ways with Dennison also raised questions about the future of Taylor, who has one year left on his contract.

The Bills have four draft picks in the top 50 of the 2018 NFL Draft, including the No. 21 and No. 22 picks as well as a second-rounder from the Los Angeles Rams. There is also the possibility that they could acquire or sign a quarterback on the market.

General manager Brandon Beane, speaking on WGR 550, hardly gave Taylor a vote of confidence, saying that the Bills are "still in the process" of finding a franchise quarterback.

Other possible candidates include former Seattles Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo, former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Rob Cudzinski.
