Shocking footage shows hospital tossing woman out into the cold

"In the end we clearly failed to fulfill our mission with this patient", they concluded. "On Wikipedia, one user edited the University of Maryland Medical Center page, calling out the hospital for "[dumping] patient wearing only a hospital gown at a nearby bus stop in freezing temperatures".

A Baltimore hospital launched an investigation Wednesday after a shocking video showed a woman being left by the hospital staff on the road during soaring temperatures.

A Maryland hospital is under fire after a bystander took footage showing a woman who had apparently been discharged from the hospital wearing only a gown and socks.

In a statement to PEOPLE, University of Maryland Medical Center officials said that they "share the shock and disappointment" of those who have seen the video.

A guard turns around and offers a vague explanation: "Due to the circumstances of what it was".

He said the hospital must own what happened to this patient, but said they also must "learn from this failure" and ensure it does not happen again or be allowed to define them. Baraka said in the video, moments after the woman was left outside.

"Your health care team will help you get ready to leave and give you and your loved ones instructions on at-home care", it adds.

"What I saw was an individual who was trying to do the right thing, who was trying to advocate for someone they saw in need", Suntha said.

Oil approaches 2015 highs on fewer U.S. rigs, OPEC
The higher US prices are driven by continued declines in the amount of crude oil in the nation's commercial stockpiles. That means that as fast as the price of Brent is rising, WTI prices are rising even more quickly.

Mr. Baraka, who did not immediately respond to requests for comment, stopped filming and called emergency responders.

Imamu Baraka captured the incident in Baltimore on video Tuesday night, Fox 5 News reports. She would not say whether the workers in the video were hospital employees or were from a security company, and said the hospital is not releasing further information on the incident at this time.

Baraka questions the guards leaving her at the bus stop and is told the woman was "medically cleared". "You can do better".

He then called an ambulance who took her back to the hospital she had just been kicked out of, he said. "You must do better".

The hospital can not comment on patient care or why she was discharged.

Shortly after Baraka posted the video, the discharged patient's treatment went viral, and public backlash against the medical center grew.

The Medical System says it is doing a thorough review and evaluating the appropriate response.
