Saudi Arabia claims to intercept Houthi-fired missile

The Saudi Air Defense Forces on Thursday intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militias over Najran. Col.

The coalition destroyed a boat carrying explosives as it headed toward the tanker on Saturday, coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said.

On Dec. 19, 2017, the Houthi movement fired a ballistic missile toward the royal palace in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

"There is no doubt that Hodeidah Port has now become a starting point for terrorist operations to threaten the maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait", Maliki said.

It is the fifth long-range ballistic missile attack by the Yemeni Houthi rebels on the neighboring oil-rich Gulf state in two months.

Firefighting resumes on burning tanker
Chinese media has shared footage of oil tanker Sanchi puffing black clouds of smoke as rescue boats try to douse the flames. The ministry reported that 14 vessels were searching for the missing sailors in the tanker's vicinity before the explosion.

Last Friday, social networking sites shared a number of pictures of an intercepted Houthi missile in the Najran area.

The area between Lahj and Taez provinces is one of several fronts where pro-government forces are advancing with support from the coalition, which includes the UAE.

The nephew of Yemen's late President Ali Abdullah Saleh has surfaced on Thursday in the country's south, weeks after he disappeared after death of Saleh at hands of his onetime allies, the Houthi rebels.

"If the aggressors keep pushing toward Hodeidah and if the political solution hits wall, there are some strategic choices that will be taken as a no return point, including blocking the worldwide navigation in the Red Sea", Houthis' Ansarullah political council chief, Saleh al-Samad, was quoted saying. Now perceived as an avarice sectarian militia & obstacle to a political solution.
