Intel launches a drone light show that dazzles above Bellagio

Now if you’re approaching turn 13 at a terrible angle your team director can yell at you about it before the race is even over

Intel sent 250 of its Shooting Star drones over the Bellagio to celebrate CES 2018.

One of those would be a drone light show that is taking place above the famous Bellagio Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip for the next 3 nights. A scaled-down version of that system now works indoors, Intel says, making it flawless for conferences, Vegas shows and bar mitzvahs. Firstly, these drones are smaller than the original Shooting Star model, and secondly, this was all done indoors.

Called the Shooting Star Mini (the outdoor version is called Shooting Star), this system uses a different type of location detection system when GPS is unavailable. Intel said the software allows for complex show design in weeks rather than months. The drones are custom-built for entertainment purposes and feature a lightweight structure and emit more than 4 billion color combinations.

Erdogan's spokesman: Turkish banker's U.S. conviction 'scandalous'
Atilla, 47, is one of nine people indicted in the case, seven of whom were in Turkey where they haven't been tried. Atilla is charged with bank fraud, money laundering and four separate conspiracy charges.

The new indoor flight record follows Intel's own outdoor record of 500 drones, set in 2016 in Germany.

At a theater in the Monte Carlo hotel, the drones took off indoors and put on an aerial show. Intel noted, "A single pilot can fly up to 100 of them at once". The song they danced to was Kygo's "Stargazing," of course. The show continues with two performances every night through Thursday, January 11 during CES. We've seen Intel perform synchronized drone light shows before; past year at Coachella, in Singapore last August, and to promote the Warner Bros. home video release of Wonder Woman (2017) in Los Angeles last September. Instead, they're just here for these kinds of light shows.
