We know Google is always thinking about future, and since May past year, it has been testing a mysterious new operating system called Fuchsia. In any case, if you have any of the three devices listed, you can run Fuchsia OS right now. After this dissimilarity is overcome, however, getting Fuchsia OS loaded onto the device for booting, a process known internally as paving, should be about the same. Google's $1,000 laptop usually runs Chrome OS, but with the latest Fuchsia builds, you can swap out the browser-based OS for Google's experimental operating system. This is according to the platform's documentation in which a new page about installing Fuchsia on the Pixelbook was added. The development documents describe the OS as targeting "modern phones and modern personal computers", which would seemingly put it in competition with both of Google's existing OSes.

The "Escher" renderer is written in the Vulkan graphics API, and seems custom-built to run Google's shadow-heavy Material Design interface guidelines.

Jimmy Butler shines as Wolves send Thunder to third straight loss
Teague returned to practice wearing a brace on his knee and worked out on the court before the team announced he would play. Then the Wolves beat New Orleans at home and led by as many as 34 points, a season-high mark to that point.

As it stands Chrome OS already allows the running of Android apps, so perhaps Fuchsia could be an evolution of that. And beyond Android, Google has the Chrome OS platform that has become increasingly popular on laptops in recent history, particularly in the education space where value is the primary concern. However, the testing was then expanded to Acer's Switch Alpha 12 and Intel's NUC Chromebooks. Have a peek back at Beyond Android: Our first look at Google Fuchsia back in May of past year. Google stopped developing this branch of the system UI, though, so there's no way to get it running on an Android phone anymore.

The document recommends creating the install media on a USB drive, which prepares the host for the paving process. Fuchsia developers were also aiming for it to run on a Raspberry Pi 3. It took Google five years of development time to turn Android into a real product. Knowing that Google has a new OS in the works is admittedly quite exciting, but just like it was in 2016, it's still unclear what exactly Google plans on doing with it.
