Accused Manhattan bomber indicted for NYC subway attack

Left- Suspect Akayed Ullah Right- A police officer stands guard in front of Port Authority Bus Terminal

This undated photo provided by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission shows Akayed Ullah, the suspect in the explosion near New York's Times Square.

When Manhattan Federal Judge Richard Sullivan asked Ullah his plea, Ullah replied, "At this moment, not guilty".

The 27-year-old stands charged with providing material support to a terrorist organization and other counts in the December 11 attack.

A Bangladeshi immigrant accused in the attempted suicide bombing in a New York City subway station last month was indicted Wednesday on federal terrorism charges.

Ullah was seriously burned and five bystanders received minor injuries December 11 when an explosive device he wore detonated.

Three commuters near Ullah during the incident at morning rush hour suffered headaches and ringing ears, in what authorities quickly pronounced a terrorist attack.

"As alleged in the indictment Akayed Ullah constructed a pipe bomb and detonated it in a mass transit hub in the heart of New York City to terrorize as many people as possible and to bring ISIS-inspired violence to American soil", said Acting Assistant Attorney General Boente, who announced the federal grand jury's decision.

OnePlus 5T to get Android Oreo open beta
The company has still not revealed any details about the global roll out of Android 8.0 Oreo for its LG G6 users. Oreo update will be a major update of the OnePlus 5T smartphone and it will make your device run smoothly.

Ullah said he had.

His court-appointed attorney, Amy Gallicchio, did not elaborate on the plea outside court.

Outside of court, Gallicchio, said, "When we have an indictment containing charges like this, I think it's easy to lose sight of the important and invaluable rights that every person is afforded in our system of justice, including Mr. Ullah".

Ullah was treated at Bellevue Hospital after the blast for burns and cuts to his hands and abdomen and is now in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. Only he was seriously injured.

He will be arraigned before Judge Sullivan. President Donald Trump and GOP leadership have publicly opposed this policy and have said the practice should be halted as part of any comprehensive immigration reform.

She said Ullah recently had some stitches removed but had others that were still causing him a "great deal of discomfort".
