'Venom': First Official Look At Tom Hardy As Eddie Brock

Check out a first look pic of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in Venom

The film will be directed by Ruben Fleischer and is the first installment of Sony's Marvel Universe, shared cinematic universe that will include Silver and Black, a movie featuring Silver Sable and Black Cat, and the Morbius movie. No doubt the film's post-production team is working overtime to get those effects finished, and while this first look image is somewhat bland given what this movie is, we may be seeing a trailer here before too long.

It is believed that the film will be inspired by the "Lethal Protector" storyline, which sees Venom going up against the Life Foundation, an organization interested in experimenting on the Venom symbiote.

In addition to the panel video, IGN has debuted the first look photo. The character moves from New York City to San Francisco in the story.

As promised, IGN has today unleashed the first official image (seen in the gallery below, along with some recent set pics) of Sony and Ruben Fleisher's Venom, the Spider-Man offshoot that places the focus squarely on Tom Hardy's infamous anti-hero.
