'Fast' Eddie Clarke, Motörhead Guitarist, Dies at 67

Motohead Classic Line Up

They added that Chiswick Records founder Ted Carroll (who formed Chiswick Records) heard the news from the band's former manager Doug Smith that the musician "passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia". "RIP Fast Eddie Clarke 5th October 1950 - 10th January 2018".

However, he made a decision to quit in 1982, and formed Fastway, who went onto to support the likes of AC/DC.

The last surviving original member of the iconic rock band Motorhead has died.

"Fast" Eddie Clarke, the last of the members of the classic lineup of Motorhead that included Lemmy Kilmister and Phil Taylor, has died after battling pneumonia.

Former Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee, who is now a member of the Scorpions, said: "Oh my f***ing God, this is awful news, the last of the three amigos".

Drummer Mikkey had only seen his friend recently and said he was in "great shape".

Is Travelling To Mexico Safe? State Department Issues Travel Advisory
Chihuahua, where dozens were killed over a two-day span last week, was given a level 3 category, which means "reconsider travel". Five states in Mexico now have the highest " Level 4: Do not travel " advisories under a new regime unveiled Wednesday.

"We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight", Motorhead wrote on their Facebook page. So this is a complete shock.

The guitarist was introduced to frontman Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister by drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor.

Motorhead, who formed in 1975 but didn't issue their debut album until 1977, was a seminal influence on the heavy metal boom of the 1980s and 1990s, notes Rolling Stone.

However, it was under this trio that the British group witnessed their biggest successes, with albums like Overkill and Ace of Spades, among others.

The rock world once again mourns the death of another one of its greats, "Fast" Eddie Clarke of Motörhead.

In his 2002 memoir, White Line Fever, Lemmy recalled: "Eddie used to leave the band about every two months, but this time it just so happened that we didn't ask him back".
