Music legend and celebrity Dolly Parton announced Tuesday that her "Dixie Stampede" has been renamed "Dolly Parton's Stampede".

In a statement, Parton said the name change will remove any confusion or concerns as the show expands across the world.

The name change will take place with the attraction's 2018 season, which begins in January, according to * a href="https://dpstampede.com/pigeon-forge/show-schedule/#show_8519387*" target="_blank" *its website.

Her Stampede shows are now located in Pigeon Forge, TN, and Branson, MO. Owens added that the show is evaluated at the close of each season.

"There is interest in several parts of the United States and internationally to host one of our unique dinner attraction shows", World Choice Investments CEO Jim Rule says.

Slate writer Aisha Harris criticized the Pigeon Forge dinner show in a review published in August 2017 and said the show romanticizes the old South, knoxnews.com reported. "We provide spectacular family entertainment at a great value". "This is not a cultural decision by them, this is not a decision about North versus South or the political correctness of the Civil War".

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett tells KnoxNews.com that he's disappointed in the name change from Dixie Stampede. "This is about selling tickets to a show". But parent company World Choice Investments says it's time to "streamline" the names of the show. Ultimately, he said, the Dolly Parton brand is so strong and fans and customers are loyal no matter what. Celebrate as the North and South join together in a patriotic salute of Red, White and Blue featuring COLOR ME AMERICA, written and recorded by Dolly herself. "She's talented, she's smart, she's succeeded against the odds. You know, I just hope they don't change their Christmas program".
