Dubbing the Karnataka government "corrupt at all levels", BJP President Amit Shah on Wednesday said the state's people are waiting to throw out the ruling Congress in the upcoming assembly elections, due in April.

The BJP, which has mere presence in the southern states, will look to place their feet with Karnataka poll.

Lashing out at the State government for withdrawing cases filed against the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), he alleged that for vote-bank gains, the Congress government had adopted soft stand towards organisations that promote religious fundamentalism. Apart from BJP president and UP CM, BJP state president Mahendra Nath Pandey and other senior leaders of party will also address the gathering, he said.

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government Shah accused it of slowing down development and rampant corruption.

"The Modi government has provided Rs 2,19,506 crore to Karnataka under the 14th Finance Commission and Rs 79,000 crore under various schemes since 2014-15. They will be behind the bars once the BJP forms government in the state", he added.

Accusing BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal of "disturbing peace", the Karnataka Chief Minister alleged that there were extremist elements in the group. "It does not matter if it is the SDPI or the Bajrang Dal, whatever organisation it is, we will not tolerate it".
