Sunni Waqf Board rejects Sibal's plea

He can argue in court but is it right for him to say postpone hearing till 2019?

Surjewala also accused the ruling BJP of raking up the Ayodhya issue to escape from the "failed" development promises.

Stating that the Congress's "soon-to-be-declared president" Rahul Gandhi is "visiting temple after temple to express his faith" in Gujarat, Shah said, "Ek ore mandiron ke chunavi daure chal rahe hain, aur doosri ore Shri Ramjanmabhoomi case par sunvai ko taalne ke liye Kapil Sibal ka upyog kiya ja raha hain".

On Tuesday, Sibal, appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Wakf Board, requested to set the date for the next hearing after July 2019 since "the case has ramifications on polity of India".

Govt Unveils Rs8,450 crore Package To Revive Exports After GST
It increased incentives would translate into additional benefits of Rs.2,816 crore for the current financial year. The Minister said that the Policy , announced in 2015, was not a one-time exercise for helping the exporters.

In a fresh twist in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, the Sunni Waqf Board on Wednesday said that they differ with senior lawyer Kapil Sibal's arguments in the Supreme Court seeking postponement of hearing in the matter till the 2019 polls, saying they favour an immediate solution to the long-standing dispute. "Is such thinking proper", the Prime Minister raised quations. The court ordered each party a third of the land at the site.

The Congress had distanced itself from Sibal's stand in the Supreme Court. "The Congress has nothing to do with it".

Earlier, BJP chief Amit Shah had latched out at Sibal and Congress and asked party vice president Rahul Gandhi to clear the stand of its party on the Ram temple issue. The Congress should give a clarification on the double standard. Addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad, Amit Shah said: "The SC has started hearing the Ram Janma Bhoomi case".

The Babri Masjid was built by Mughal emperor Babur in Ayodhya in 1528. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also said his party's stand "has always been clear, that the Ayodhya case will be decided by Supreme Court". About 2,000 people were killed in the deadly riots that followed the Babri masjid demolition.
