PUBG Mobile Game in Development, Will Launch in China Published by Tencent

Call of Duty Battle Royale Is Coming… To China

The Chinese version of Call of Duty: Online is now testing a new Battle Royale mode based on the one made popular by Bluehole Studios in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The company will be responsible for running the game's servers, as well as weeding out cheaters and making sure that the game complies with the strict regulations of the Chinese government. The PUBG mobile game is being described as a "full fledged mobile port" which will allow "players jumping over to mobile ... to take advantage of their play on PC and maintain a consistent experience".

Giving the reins of "PUBG's" Chinese market to Tencent will help the game find localized solutions to two big issues that the title is facing.

Lennie James' Morgan to Join the Cast of 'Fear the Walking Dead'
Other casting additions include Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman, both of whom have joined as series regulars. It's just one of the questions we tackle in the latest episode of The Stalking Dead Podcast .

Bringing PUBG on PC to the mainland Asia region is already a massive feat in of itself and represents a huge boon to earnings, but an additional mobile port will ensure long-term success as gamers will be able to play both at home and on-the-go.

According to a post by Tencent, development on the mobile version of PUBG is "ongoing smoothly". Tencent already dominates the Chinese mobile market with games like Honor of Kings-in fact the publisher had 8 out of the 20 top Chinese mobile games and apps in November.

This might seem like an odd move for Tencent, considering it now holds the license to publish Battlegrounds in China, but since there has been talk of banning the game there, perhaps Tencent is merely covering all of its bases.
